Portuguese Laurel – Portugal Laurel

Portuguese Laurel has a smaller, darker green leaf than ordinary laurel and is not quite as quick growing. It makes a dense hedge which clips well and looks more formal. If allowed to grow untrimmed it will make a small tree which will flower prolifically in May time.

    Portuguese laurel is an excellent hedging plant that will grow in partial shade. It should not be confused with common laurel as it is slower growing. The site should be carefully prepared before planting using planting compost to help the plants establish themselves.If left untrimmed Portugese laurel will form a small tree with highly scented white flowers in April/May.
